URGENT: No Racing this Weekend

URGENT: No Racing this weekend.

It is a with a sense of disappointment that The Jiggy Jiggy Group must announce that unfortunately Summit Dash will not be going ahead this weekend. This is due to issues with obtaining a Local Laws Permit for the event.

We would like to thank all competitors and friends for their support and a special thanks to the Event Committee who had already spent a number of hours getting Phoenix Park ready.

While there will be no racing, we are still proud to present with Amaroo RC, the Grand Boot Party for Brod Helmers and Corinne Fleming on Saturday Night. For those staying overnight, there will be a small fee of $5 per head to cover Camping Fees.

As part of our efforts to assist Ballan Scouts with the restoration of Phoenix Park, not only for future Motorsport Events but general camping use by all Scouting members, we welcome anyone who would like to help with Working Bee activities on Saturday prior to the Boot kicking off.

All Teams who have submitted entries will be individually contacted this evening by our Event Secretary Claire in regards to refunding of all Entry Fees received.

Special Thanks to our suppoters for Summit Dash:

  • Josh (GL) - 1st Ballan Scout Group
  • Phoenix Park
  • Rover Scout Motorsport
  • VicRovers
  • Tim @ Inferno Marine (Signage Labels)
  • Partners of the Committee for their continuing support

Once again thank you all for your support, we'll see you all at the Boot on Saturday and then at

The Lead Foot Challenge 2012 @ Mafeking Rover Park.

SUMMIT DASH 2011 UPDATES

After examination of venue conditions and the weather forecast, there have been alterations the track designs - new maps will be posted online to reflect this within the next few days.

We also wish to inform all competitors that there is a high possibility that we may be declaring 'Wet Track' for a number of tracks. This will mean that hi-tread tyres such as 'Aggies' may be permitted.

Also new Special Khanacross Tracks 2 & 4 (If running) will be restricted to stock standard road tyres - this mean no muddies, no rally style tyres, etc. Any questions regarding this restriction for this special Khanacross Test can be directed to Rob - 0411061409.

An updated Event Program and the Event Penalties are now available from www.thejiggyjiggygroup.org.

There is a new Motorkhana Penalty being trialed for this event.
- Incorrect Method (1st Instance): 10 seconds added to Race Time
- Incorrect Method (2nd Instance or later): Event Slowest Time plus 5 Second

Example:
- While completing a test, you drive the wrong direction around one marker but complete the rest of the test as directed = Incorrect Method (1st Instance)
- While completing a test, you drive the wrong direction around more than one marker = Incorrect Method (2nd Instance or later)

We are hoping that the new penalties will help clear up confusion with the application of the Incorrect Method penalty and will mean that lower numbers of competitors will receive Event Slowest Time plus Five Seconds Penalties.
